Willson Gardens

These are named to honour Stan Willson. There are currently 14 retirement units available on an occupation license agreement basis.

Residents enjoy independent living in their own home built for convenience and value, with comfort and peace of mind for them and their families. Assisted living services are available if needed in relaxed, warm and caring atmosphere.

Serviced Apartments

5 apartments have been built in the James Watt Wing. There were previously 10 Rest home beds in this area. With the changing face of services, people entering the facility are not as independent as in former years. The serviced apartment concept is what the public want for independent but supported living. The apartments are now certified for Rest home care.

Activties

Activities

At Moana House, we firmly believe that being in an aged care home should not mean giving up the joys of everyday life. We offer activities that enrich the lives of our residents, from music and craft classes to baking and other forms of entertainment. Our team of dedicated staff ensure that our residents are social and kept busy in our residential aged care facility. We also offer a range of activities outside of the home, such as garden walks, picnics and excursions, to ensure our residents have the opportunity to experience new things. Our goal is to provide a safe and secure environment for our residents, while also providing them with the opportunity to explore and discover.

We are fortunate to be located in the beautiful Whangamata village, where the beach is a short trip away. We always find hte fresh sea air is a fantastic benefit to all our residents.

The units come complete with wheelchair accessible shower, safety railings, non slip floors and 24 hour emergency button. Each centrally heated unit has 2 double bedrooms, single internal entry garage and plenty of storage space.
Willson Gardens is close to all the amenities that the community has on offer, e.g. 2 golf courses, bowling greens, croquet, floral and art clubs, garden club, bridge club, Lions and a theatre society to name a few and a great selection of restaurants and cafes.

The Village has a semi rural outlook. The grounds are well established with beautiful mature gardens landscaped around each individual unit.

There are four serviced apartments attached to the inpatient facility which have a single bedroom, that could accommodated two people, with en suite and a small living/kitchen area.

A communal room has been built under the new hospital wing where the village occupants use for social activities.
There is room for some further development in the future dependent upon demand
